Apologies to a Mosquito

Barely managing to stay awake, I finally gave in to the Sleeping Godess, turned off the lights and in no time was humming the Zs(Zzzz...)

It must have been around 2300 hrs that i must have slept.. So deep was I into sleep that, probably a roaring lion would have failed to budge me a bit. But these are the moments where the proverbial statements literally come true like the Pen becomes mightier than the sword OR in my case 'The mosquito's whine in my ears sounded decibels much higher than the roar of a lion'. As if in auto-mode, my hand slapped my ear so hard, it made me wide awake, all frustrated, words of curse oozing out of my lips, with the only respite that I murdered the mosquito which destroyed my sleep.

What next, I thought restlessly, as I realized, sleep was not easy to come by, thanks to the shocking thud that I gited my ears with , courtesy – DAA mosquito. My mind kept running – What could motivate me to sleep. I hated the idea of getting out of my cosy bed, put on the lights and pick up a book to read myself to sleep. Helplessly, I pressed the remote to switch on the Idiot’s Box.(Infact I must say ‘Lucky me’ as the remote was lying next to my pillow, not needing me to get off my comfort). Thought, may be I could see something, boring enough to compel me to sleep once again. After whisking through some channels, undecided on what to follow, I decided to experiment watching the movie ‘Me Sindhutai Sakpal’.

Assuring myself that, within no time will I fall asleep again, as the movie though based on a true life, I expected it to be a complete melodrama in the first half, worthy enough to doze me off. I had read about Sindhutai Sakpal, and the real hardships that she had gone through before turning out to be the noteworthy social reformer that she is well known today.

But to my surprise, this movie turned out to be too positive from the word GO. I do not intend to script a review here( I leave that to the so called experts/critics), but the movie just suck me in as scene after scene unfolded. From a helpless 10-12 yr old kid, to an outcast, to a leader, to a world renowned reformer, and even at the pinnacle most moment in her life where she was invited for an international forum, where too she collected alms( read dollars) in her ‘Zoli’, everything was very well presented.

Full credit to Tejaswini Pandit who has pulled off a ripper, and a director of wits Ananth Mahadevan, to have taken up a difficult subject, stuck to its originality ( rather than increasing the melodramas as in Bollywood movies or reality shows). This movie should help the world know Sindhutai( or Mai as she is referred to ) more better than mere word of mouth.

A casual look at the clock and it was already 2:20 am, but I was smiling to sleep now having seen a wonderful movie that made my day( or rather my night)

A must see for those who wish to contribute to the society. May be Sindhutai’s ashram in Hadapsar is a good place to start contributing by donating/sponsoring a student

Oh, and by the way, my deepest apologies to the mosquito who woke me up to watch this movie, and got killed in return.

Hello World

If the title looks familiar to many then, no prizes for guessing that I dwell into Software Engineering.
Readers might be wondering - "Aaah, Not again..one more empty headed/handed Software professional cooling his heels or rather hands on a blog site. "
But then, dare I say, Why Not!
Running my mouse scroller attached with my brain cells through millions of lines of code, day in and day out compels me to stick in front of the idiot box. Where do I find solace or a welcome break then?
For now, Blogging is the answer to me, to let reek out some of the handy writing skills that I possess.
I am an impromptu thinker, who can really attach a context to an incident and then state/narrate a situation. Most of the times it's worked to convince everybody around.

So expect anything to everything in my writeups.

So join all in welcoming me to the world of blogging.

Boy, I do feel nostalgic. My first stint with programming started approx 5 years back. I patted myself on my back to have written a program "Hello World" in C. My career's not shaped bad thereafter.
Today, I take the first baby step in the World of Blogging, Lets hope My hobby of writing doesnt shape bad hereafter as well.
